Nordic Forum

Malmö:Representatives from Nordic Union of Hotel, Restaurant, Catering and Tourism workers and its member organizations will gather in Malmö during the 4-5th of October to discuss various important issues concerning the sector and develop strategies to improve the working conditions in the sector and how to strengthen the member organizations influence at the international level.

The overall theme of the Nordic Forum in 2016 will be as following: TOURISM: THE INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE. During the two days the spotlight will be on various sectoral issues such as health and safety, union organizing, education and working conditions. These are all important factors that need to be addressed by the social partners in order to attract and retain employees in a rapidly growing sector that unfortunately has poor reputation caused by precarious employment conditions.

Nordic Forum is NU HRCT highest decision making body organized every for years and is an important venue for the member organization to share their experience, evaluate the work and define the priorities for NU HRCT for the next mandate period. The Nordic Forum will also elect a new governing board and set guidelines for the future work of the secretariat.
